Direct care employees provide comprehensive services for people who are mentally and/or developmentally disabled. It is the direct care worker who helps the individual meet their goals and learn to live as independently as possible.
The direct care staff person may provide assistance to individuals who need help with daily living skills, getting ready for the day, preparing meals, eating, and or going to appointments.
Direct care staffs’ purpose and mission are to assist in building life skills, job coaching, activity development and training in a social interaction.
SERVICE COORDINATION PROFESSIONALS
Case Management (Service Coordinators/Coordination) Case Managers, now referred to as "Service Coordinators/Coordination," are the participants' advocates that implement and monitor individualized service plans created to empower their lives.
Candidates require a Bachelors of Art or Bachelors of Science in the human services field- (Sociology, Psychology or Social Work), and at least a year of experience working with developmentally and or physically impaired individuals.
All candidates must complete a rigorous and extensive New Employee Training program, and must achieve appropriate certification.
